Re: standard emojis?
Yeah, I don't know what happened, but I did find the definitions of the emoji tags that phpBB auto-converts to pull images from twemoji.maxcdn.com. So, maybe there was a glitch with that CDN source. Anyway, I dumped out the list, converted into a phpBB table, et voilà, the parser couldn't handle it....

Re: standard emojis?
Do you mean other emoji's worked here? That's how I read mnem's OP. If the issue is that we don't have emojis that other forums have, that's true. I'll be adding some emoji packs to address that.
Also, there are some emojis that I've wanted, even on other forums. Now, I can make them

Re: Links in new window?
Side note: I could start TUA (Tab Users Anonymous) since my peak tabs open was once nearly 2000. I currently have 193 -- an order of magnitude improvement. 8-) Back to the links question: I found an abandoned extension that would provide a user-configurable option to open external links in a new win...

Re: Links in new window?
I can check if that behavior might be user-configurable via extension. However, as bd noted, how links behave is normally within your control based on how you click them (unlike on websites that force them to always open in a new tab). Cmd+click on macOS or Ctrl+click on Linux and Windows (and middl...

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread
Huh. It appears our Chinesium cousins have released a comparable clone of Boston Dynamics' Spot that is actually in the "consumer product" price range, with a $3700 (incl shipping) starting price. This is ~1/20th the alleged price of a barebones Spot at around $74K. https://shop.unitree.c...

The THD+N at 1000 hz at 1 volt (top) and 5 volts (bottom) isn't catastrophically bad but not as good as it could be, I think, so I'm going to let it run overnight and see if or how it changes by lunchtime tomorrow per the suggestions in one of Simon Spier's videos while I work on the other stuff I ...

25 CPS, that's quite the smorgasbord of nostalgic places, items, and activities to compensate for crummy weather. It was all over the map and an enjoyable way to spend the weekend. Today I had a nice breakfast and did a bit of reading, then one of my friends from college who also had a midweek day ...

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread
He had a commission for pictures of ice cream. He said you can't take good pictures of ice cream. What he photographed for the client was a mixture of Plaster of Paris and Angel Delight, with food colouring and fruit and bits of nut added to look like the real thing. I was under the impression that...

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread
I'm here now. It's taken some time, the main reason being that I was in a car accident a couple of weeks ago so I've been taking things slowly and haven't been doing a whole lot lately. I did pick up a second HP 16C the other day so I can have a 15C + 16C pair on my bench at work as well as the ben...

Wow, that does remind me of forum conversations that erupt from time to time. It's also reminiscent of a Key & Peele skit, if memory serves (though it serves less correctly as time passes).

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread
I fear we are at danger of straying off into a world which is alien, and even offensive, to many of our fellow TE addicts, as well as risking trespassing on the hospitality of our dear host. Bitseeker is also a gun supporter so little worry about our host and most others here are mature enough to k...
