Re: TEK TM503 Project

Yeah, fair enough. The tube doesn't go beyond the M25. I believe there are companies that enable short-term use of horseless carriages, some requiring belonging to a club, some allowing you to walk up and present the appropriate papers, and drive out. Perhaps Dunstable Downs Sunday week? I did cons...

Re: TEK TM503 Project

That 15 minute city thing is fine. I cycle, walk and use public transport all the time. As does everyone here, even if they own a car, thus busting the propaganda machine a little bit. I really I don't actually need a car. It'd just be burning money every month for no reason. I really don't need to...

Alas I have no wheels and have the kids this weekend or I would. Won't be too many years before your kids have you :( Get a train to Newbury, then a taxi to Chieveley. I'm sure you could cadge a lift back to the station :) Urgh I'm not suicidal enough to get a train out that way on a Sunday  W...

Re: Post a picture of a cat

Yep, cats and dogs that you have from young should be handled all over, belly and back rubs, feet/legs gently pulled and stroked to build trust with your new friend. A little time and effort when they are young pays off. Yes. Daughter's dog's story is ... strange. Girl in flat got a dog, about a ye...

Re: Hooky HP E3610A

Can it supply the rated current? 1N4148 are 300mA devices , and they show 290mA :) At DC. Pulsed 20A is possible. Vishay states 2A for 1µs, non-repetitive. If you put 20A through it then it must be for a very short time, in which case the V=L lead di / dt will require an "interesting" vol...

I'll have a think about the seller. It was an easy enough fix and performance is as expected now. Neutral is fine. The voltage drop was calibrated out by the seller. Obviously this changes due to the load and how much smoke was coming out of the 1N4148. ... Neutral feedback will be left as it’s obvious the seller was trying to hide this. If you can demonstrate they calibrated it out, then I'd screw the vendor -...

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread

My conclusion: the homebrew controller in the £1000 player was marginal. The early tracks are where the disk is rotating fastest, so the disc wobble is fastest and the laser focussing has to be fastest. Anybody want to have a play with it? I'm slightly tempted to have a play with it, but on reflect...
