Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread

I was about to begin checking them out this afternoon when I got downstairs and discovered that air conditioner condensation had run all over the floor by the furnace. That put a stop to doing anything on the bench. I traced the drain line and it wasn't plugged, right up to the ductwork sheetmetal ...

and that's why I went with an at&t phone......because they had a brick and mortar presence here in town (next door to where I buy beer). but when the phone started looking fat they told me to take it 45 miles to the other side of york to replace the battery. am much happier with my mint mobile p...

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread

Surprise and a close call. This is my Moto 2021 Android phone. The rear case started separating. And the reason is clearly visible. The Lithium battery has swelled. Holy shit. I bought a new phone today. I'm leaving the old phone powered up but NOT charging until the battery goes completely...

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread

Let's get this straight. You have a wife who tolerates you harbouring a Tek 575 and you joke around with her. You are indeed blessed. She was with me in Heidelberg and she even grabbed one of the handles of the 175 to get it into the car :o She is a wonderful wife and we are now married 31 years! H...

Re: HP 5334B Options H05, 010, & 030: Only 99 Dollah!

Yeah. How can Led Zeppelin be enjoyed at below the threshold of pain? Classical music is fine, but I can only properly enjoy the Heavy Metal when my neighbours have gone on holiday for the week. Headphones, dear boy, headphones. Plus they are binaural (as per other conversation with Mansaxel about ...

Re: Interesting findings on the internet

I presume all of know why modern computers still depend on "tty" devices, most obviously /dev/tty* I expect a few of us remember using such devices, latterly as VT100 terminals, before that ASR-33 terminals, and before that 5 channel "telex style" printers. To me the two-fingere...

Re: HP 5334B Options 010 & 030 Only 99 Dollah!

figured out what the H05 option is. according to this clip from a NAVAIR document the H05 option gives you a fused bnc for the "c" input. makes sense because you noted before that other versions have the bnc on the board. the reference to GPETE confirms that your unit was to support some k...

i dub thee "seven segment freak". but you did screw up by acquiring one with option 10 &30 installed. (now you will never know the joy of retrofitting these options) any idea what option h05 is? on an "a" version 05 was a built in dvm & channel c. (have never seen one act...

Tried to fistfight a threshing machine again...? mnem "never bring a gun to a dragonfight." naw. it was a little irregular rough spot about 3/16" in diameter. GP said it didn't look like anything to her but go see the dermatologist anyhow. the skinologist said 50/50 it was...

Re: Interesting findings on the internet

A pleasant pheasant plucker. My sister worked on work experience for a poultry farm (she's a vet now so this is relevant in some way) and said only weird, mental people and criminals work there so this is a viable hypothesis. Could overlap with ham radio operators on the Venn diagram  was told...

Re: Interesting findings on the internet

There are a lot of AM stations in that locality, and the station also has FM coverage. Perhaps that's why it wasn't missed. It looks as if the AM station was unmanned and in a remote location. Its absence was noticed by a landscaping crew, presumably going on an occasional visit to cut back the bru...
