Re: Post a picture of a cat
Sadly I had to send Gilmore across the bridge in early June - he'd started losing weight back last fall, and after a bunch of trips to the vet was eventually diagnosed with a likely case of lymphoma - definitely hurt to send him on his way, but he was jaundiced and down to under six pounds and in t...

Re: Post a picture of a cat
Harley likes to sometimes give me a "love bite" on my hand and his fangs break the skin. He doesn't comprehend that it's painful. My cat Loki has the same habit. While stroking him, you have to be careful, otherwise you'll get a hurtful "love bite". Does he also bite you on the ...

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread
It depends on the person using the word I find. Pleasure from a closely related person's achievements is the textbook definition of pride. It's when it crosses into glory and making it about yourself i.e. achievement by proxy, there's a problem. She did the work and got the degree. I am happy for h...

Remove starlink trails:
I'd say, take some pictures shortly after, combine them and remove the starlink patterns.
Perhaps a similar approach would work for finding interesting objects.

Re: Project: Building a RoeTest
I have 4 unused 470µF 200V caps ( Nichicon LGR2D471MELA35 ) with 10mm pin spacing, bought to swap out in the hp 8592L. The originals are however fine and these are currently surplus to me. Yours if you want them. Thanks for your kind offer! Sadly, those are ones with 10mm spacing but I need 7.5mm. ...

Re: Project: Building a RoeTest
I'll watch this with interest. I suppose it would be indelicate to ask how much it costs. The parts from Mr. Weigl so far: around 770.- Euro (2nd PIC controller included which costs 10 Euro). For the other parts my estimation is somewhere in the range of 600 to 750 Euro, depending on the source and...

Rohde & Schwarz NGL 20 3-channel PSU
Hello, some time ago, this 3-channel PSU from Rohde & Schwarz appeared on my doorsteps. It is a NGL 20 from around 1974. Every channel is capable of doing 0 to 20V and 0 to 600mA. This is ideal for tinkering around with OpAmp circuits. It is heavy for its size, the case is made of 1mm steel so v...

Project: Building a RoeTest
Hello, this week a parcel from Mr. Weigl arrived here. It contained some special parts for his RoeTest device. Mr. Weigl has designed a nice and sophisticated vacuum tube tester with lots of capabilities to test and measure vacuum tubes. This is his project page with some assembly reports available:...
