Cats are insidious like that - build up gradually and before you realize, you’re done - the seeds have germinated and taken root.

The seeds being toxoplasma gondii

Lets be clear on cats here. I don't own the cat in question. Neither does bd140. It owns her. The adoption the cat wants has not been successful. The relationship between me and the cat is adversarial and will remain that way. As bd140 has said, it's a one woman bed and the cat is not the woman!

Also is it normal for Germans to call cats by opening the window and shouting "meetz-meetz-meetz" ?

"Scat!" to a cat... but then are
smitten by kittens.

Arh, a black cat. reminds me of one we used to have called Mindy. How old is it, it looks like it could be quite old judging by the odd grey bits of fur here and there, sweet though.

All tired out after a long day of eating, pooping, playing with toys, running full speed from room to room, climbing my pants leg, and play biting Blondie's feet. Now in true cat form he has chosen the living room sofa as a good place to sleep which displaces the humans. You don't own a cat, they own you. And man does he have gross farts.

DOGS have owners. Cats have staff. Know your role, Mike! :P :P

He's an adorable little bugger. They do sleep in the damndest of positions, especially as kittens. His was one of Nixie's more 'creative' zonk-outs. It's like they just shut down in whatever position they happen to be in at the time.

Clearly you people have never met my daughter's dog, Charlie.

It isn't an owned/owner relationship, though. It is more like a partnership: you throw balls for me and take me for walks, and I'll point out where rodents live and put myself in harm's way whenever you feel threatened.

Cubdriver wrote: Thu Jun 22, 2023 10:56 pm Now that I have a good supply of both pozi and standard Phillips screwdrivers, I find that I run into the same transmogrification problem that I do with 1/2 & 9/16” and 10 & 13mm sockets - they all sense what you need and morph into their opposite number. When I need one, all that seems to be at hand is the other. Later when I need the other, they morph into the first I was looking for.

The other fun thing is when working on HP gear, have both at hand, because it’s almost always been bastardized over the years and will have a good mix of both drive types. A cover will almost always have at least one mismatched head type.

In Europe, we sort of got started using Pozidriv (instead of Philips or Robertson) on wood screws and the like; the quality brand ABC-Spax was an early adapter of it. Now, Torx is being more and more standard on all wood screws. Hence, I've always had both available, since one needs them so alternatingly. The hp situation is nothing complicated for me. The requirement to handle AF inch sizes, though, has grown on me. It started so innocently with a couple 9/16" AF wrenches for the pool pump. Now I have combinations, sockets, and the lot, not only for AF but also for Whitworth and BA.

One good thing is that 12mm & 1/2" as well as 14mm & 9/16" are so close "that they could kiss without sin".

13mm is the better for 1/2".(1/2" = 12.7mm ;) ) 5/8" and 16mm, 7/8" and 22mm, 15/16" and 24mm are all close too.

Don't get me started on tools for fastner heads.
Male Hex: Metric (AF, BA) and Imperial (AF, BSW,BSF).
Female Hex: Metric and Imperial.
Other female: Pozidrive, Phillips, JIS, R+P, Spline (5 and 6 point), Torx, RIBE, Bristol. Plus security variations
And because I do aircraft stuff you can add: tri-wing, Hi-torqe, Torq-set, 12 point.

Robert.
