Glad to hear Motley has turned up. One of our previous cats got locked in a neighbour's garage for several days. He was very keen to be back and be reunited with his food bowl. Twenty years ago, I broke my back by stepping on a cat I don't have going down the stairs. It wriggled and I went flying. It stayed for about three days and my cats didn't seem in the least put out. I suppose it was just trying me on for size to see if it could get a better quality of food/fuss than its primary owners. I obviously didn't pass muster. Before that (when I inexplicably didn't have a cat of my own), for a few months, a handsome Burmese would turn up at about 23:00, demand a bit of fuss, settle down on bed to sleep, then depart in the morning. No food was involved.

Good that furry family was reunited with his people. :)

Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message; maybe they'll get back to you. ;)
