Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread

Let's get this straight. You have a wife who tolerates you harbouring a Tek 575 and you joke around with her. You are indeed blessed. She was with me in Heidelberg and she even grabbed one of the handles of the 175 to get it into the car :o She is a wonderful wife and we are now married 31 years!

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread

Thanks for all the wishes... I caught a cold and my wife and me we were asking ourselfs about last being ill and joking around. Then she gave me a test and sure it showed two lines... Of course photos are required, first the 575. I just repaired the 2x pushbutton which had bad contact (NC) and was j...

Since Saturday I am now owner of a Tek 575 in good condition accompanied with a 175. Haven't tested it yet. Was a trip to Heidelberg over the weekend. And as a by-catch: I got CoViD :(

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread

Well hello everybody! I already prepared some time ago and end of last year I went to the FabLab here and got a safety briefing and an introduction. Yesterday I thought it was time for some amusement, so I took a piece of 4mm PMMA and went to the CO2 laser cutter. After much talking with the people ...

To be fair I read that fairly late on, after I'd been throwing together web applications for a few years. Haha, web development... We are just facing some shit from the group that throws AWS on everything not being nailed down. Now they arranged to use AWS IOT but failed to nail them to fixed IPs (...

No, both doesn't have any interface. Strange but both have a sticker on top with INTERFACEABLES IEEE-488.

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread

Either way, with a 40kΩ input resistor there's going to be less than 1mA through it, and I'd expect the feedback network to be able to absorb excess voltage at those power levels. Hmm, the feedback loop is directly coupled to the input, the 40k is "only" in front of the op amp. In range 2...

Tektronix 1240 Logic Analyzer

I got a Tek 1240 from a friend. Offered for free. "Distorted image" was the symptom. So I said yes. It took some time for the instrument to arrive. I repaired it. The offending part was a kind of Zener-Crapacitor, an electrolyte being installed in wrong polarity in the factory. My repair r...

Is Discord down for anyone else?
Hmm, I don't think R223 is a NTC either. Both have the same symbol with +Theta, I would expect -Theta for an NTC. And if its an NTC/MOV, the traces to it will explode with powerful +250Vrms fed into it.

Re: Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) : Discussion and Group Therapy Thread

It does appear to be protected by a MOV/NTC resistor though. The schematic is a bit all over the place... NTC? I suspect R221 is a PTC. In combination with the Zeners at the output of the Opamp it will limit the current. Quite interesting they use a PTC in the feedback loop of the Opamp, as this re...

Does anyone here owns a Philips/Fluke PM2525 multimeter? I had a strange current ranging effect and just before opening it I found the fuse with 630mA to be blown.
