Siglent support thread (unofficial)

Post by tautech »

Just offering personal help and advice as required for all Siglent products.

We advise all owners to keep firmware up to date for the frequent new functionality additions and to maintain instrument stability.
The HQ firmware webpages is the easiest place to find firmware for your products:

All well and good, but if they had genuine empathy for their customers and a commitment to optimising the Siglent purchase experience, they would have included the hacks, saving their customers (who are also their friends yada, yada) a lot of time wading through threads on EEVBlog.

Hacks they aren't really but instead a discovery of the option licensing themes where the Python script and knowledge of a few undocumented SCPI commands can tell the instrument to be something else ! Not all are that easy when there are 2 product lines that share the exact same HW but have different Product ID's so that must be changed before the appropriate firmware can be installed.

How did I learn this....by reading all the posts about hacking on EEVblog and running the script to confirm it spits out the same license codes as OEM. 8-)

You can also add tags for the TE categories of products that you'll be covering here: oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.
TEA is the way.

Useful to have an unofficial Siglent thread, to support all those unofficial Siglents out there, like my RS Pro SPD 3303!

No I haven't replaced the bridges yet...
