Dam and blast, my 40" 2015 vintage 4K smart Samsung TV today has developed 2 blue areas of the screen, top right and top left areas. Currently, its only really noticeable when the background is something like a pale sky. On normal backgrounds it is not normally noticeable, however it is not going to get better without some intervention, for which I don't have the space to do.
I can currently get a Samsung 2022 model for just £399 which has a reasonable specification https://www.samsung.com/uk/tvs/uhd-4k-t ... u8500kxxu/ and comes with a 6-year warranty. I have never until today had any issues with Samsung TV's, on the other hand I also have a pair of LG monitors which are at least 8-years old and still going strong, but it seems that their TV's only come with a 12-month warranty. Decisions, decisions, what are recommendations your, which makes have you all had experiences with?

Samsung only. Last one I bought dead for a quid and fixed it. New one the ex wife now has so I don't give a shit. Had Sony before that which was a disaster.
Re: Samsung 4K Ultra smart TV
I buy the cheapest I can find on the curb. Patch 'em up, use 'em till they blow up, put 'em back on the curb.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
I tried buying a new TV (4K, onn Roku TV) when we first got here; it was big (58") and only $300 so I splurged on a Xmas present to myself. It lasted just shy of a year before it developed shorted traces in the screen. OEM paid off on warranty; I bodged it with "the LCD tape hack" and still using it.

Re: Samsung 4K Ultra smart TV
Nah, I don't think that is a 4K unit, the bezel of the thing is way to thick, the same as my old one was, still a good TV. As to the 4K, still using today, the patches either we don't notice it now, or they have improved a bit, I'll have to have look at again.
